The course includes 13 major and challenging rapids that range from grade II and III to IV+ with the prominent ones being Denial Dip, The Wall, Black Money, CrossFire, Three Blind Mice, Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Club House, Double Trouble, Hilton and Terminator. If you are a beginner in rafting or even an experienced one, we do not recommend this stretch to you. This is meant for only the professionals but if you still want to opt for it, it is up to you.

Rafting from Marine Drive (to Laxman Jhula) 


Rafting from Marine drive to Laxman Jhula takes approx. 6-7 hours and the stretch is 28 kilometres. Some of the popular rapids that one will be tackling in this stretch include Black Money, CrossFire and Three Blind Mice that ranges from grade II to III+. This river rafting package is also not considered for the beginners. 



Rafting Shivpuri (to Laxman Jhula) 


River rafting from Shivpuri is the most popular stretch for the rafting lovers. The Shivpuri rafting package is recommended for couples and family (and even children). The stretch is about 18 kilometres, which is quite fine even for the beginners. The major rapids on this stretch are Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course and Club House.


Rafting from Brahmpuri (to Laxman) 


The rafting stretch from Brahmpuri to Laxman Jhula, which is also the easiest one, throws rapids like Double Trouble, Hilton and Terminator, which ranges from grade I to II+, at you. The rafting package from Brahmpuri to Laxman is popular among the couples, families and even children. 


Best time for rafting in Rishikesh


The best time for rafting in Rishikesh is from March to May end (till the monsoon appears) and then from September to December. Though nowadays, rafting in Rishikesh is on in January and February too. And rafting in January and February is completely fine if you are ready to bear the chilled weather and chilled water of the Ganges. But the peak rafting season in Rishikesh is from March to May. One must not consider river rafting in the monsoon season. This can be fatal and suicidal.
