One of the fourteen reincarnation of  Lord Shiva is Kaal Bhairav. Bhairav-Garhi is the famous abode of Kaal Bhairav . It is situated on the hills of Raajkheel village (17 km from Lansdowne).

The deity Kaal Naath Bhairav is regularly worshipped here. The deity is believed to love everything black, that is the reason why Manduwe Ka Aata is prefered as Prasaad there.

Bhairav or Bhairon is widely known as The Protector or The Gate-man of Garhwal. As the history says it, Bhairav Garh is one of the 52 garhs of Garhwal and originally it was known as Langoor Garh

Langoor Garh was a powerful fort till 1791. The Gorkha army struggled for two years to seize the fort and even after 28 days of fight they were defeated and went back.

One of the Gorkha named Thapa realised the significance of the Bhairav in Langoor Garh and donated a 40 kilo Tamra-patra there.
Nearby, Lord Hanuman is worshipped in Hanuman Garhi, situated at the distance of 2 km . One month festival from 15 july to 15 august is organised by locals there.
