The most tragic and horrifying time for Uttarakahnd

June 2013 has become the most horrifying and and unforgettable time for thousands of people form around the country, who have visited the beautiful state to spend memorable time with their family and loved ones. Mother nature showed no mercy this time and thousands of people have lost their lives in floods, flash floods, land slides and rains. From the localites to the visitors, from state government to central government everyone was shocked with these sudden bursts by mother nature at this point of time.

Heavy rains and monsoon were expected by end of June causing the number of visitors to increase. The tragedy is on a very large scale uniting the nation together in these sad and difficult moments.

The rescue teams are in continuous efforts to save as many lives as possible from all around the state. The Indian Army has taken the lead role in the rescue work and doing a great work. The prime areas hit are Kedarnath ghati, Givindghat, Rudraprayag, Gaurikund, Joshimath, Hemkund Sahib, Gangotri, Jyotirmath, Roopkund. Apart from these the reports say that 160 villages have washed away in the floods andaround 110 bridges are damaged. The road connectivity is affected in more 100 places causing the biggest problem in the rescue operation.

According to the Government statistics the causalities are around 200 but as per the estimation of media and the survivors the number can go beyond 10, 000.

Seeing our own Uttarakhand in such a tragic and helpless situation is really painful. What has happened to our beautiful and holy state? But more or less we human being are responsible for such bursts from nature. If we do not respect and care for the nature, the nature makes its own way. The pilgrim places has become kind of picnic spots for people these days. The purity of the sacred places is diminishing and the Char Dham are becoming the commercial hub for many. Why do not we leave the places as they were in early days? Why are we capturing the places which belongs to the God and the mother nature? Why are we kind of looting the pilgrims through food and accommodation? Why we are continuously clearing the greener areas and setting the concrete jungle?

Why the tragedy happened, we can get the answer if we as the above question to ourselves. Nothing else but the nature still remains the most powerful thing on Earth. We better respect the nature and care for it or else we should be prepared for face such anger and serous reactions from nature.

Well the discussion is never-ending, so lets pray for the people who have lost their loved ones and may god the souls of the dead ones in peace.
